Jorge Pedron

Chief Operations Officer


Jorge is responsible for the operations and performance of the company’s generation assets in the United States. He manages a team of more than 450 employees covering field services, operations and maintenance, dispatch and balancing for nearly 70 wind, solar and thermal assets located in more than 20 states with a total generating capacity exceeding 7,000 MW. 
An industrial management and electrical engineer by training, Jorge joined Iberdrola in 2002 as part of the engineering and construction team and was the construction project manager for nine wind farms.

Immediately preceding his current role, he led the Operation and Maintenance Department for Iberdrola Renovables, in charge of operations for 7,000 MW of wind and solar in Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Greece, and Cyprus. In this role, he led an international team of 500 people, responsible for safety, efficiency, availability and operational quality at Iberdrola’s wind farms and photovoltaic plants worldwide. In that role, he was also the president of Iberdrola Renovables’ Health and Safety Board.
